Diapers, a Website and Endless Joy!

A couple of months after giving birth to my baby girl Emma-Kate, I needed a project to keep my head busy before I went back to work. Since I was taking a 2 years and a half maternity leave (without pay), I had a little bit of time ahead to accomplish something fun. And since I am so passionate about traveling, the choice was obvious for me: to start my company, my website, Easy Planet Travel.

Months went by collecting ideas, planning, deciding how I wanted this website to look like and what would be the content. It took so much work! You have no idea!! It took me 8 months (from November 2013 to June 2014) to plan everything, collect information and then build this website (yes, I did it all by myself… well almost! 😉

I launched it on June 15th, 2014… Exactly 1 year before I am going back to work (my ‘real’ work). I wanted to give myself 1 year to see how Easy Planet Travel would do, how much people would like it and visit it. And by the way, I am only working when my little girl is sleeping or when someone else is taking care of her. I spend all her awake time with her, because that’s my first purpose in life now: taking care of my precious little Emma-Kate. Then, I spend more than 30 hours a week working on listing top destinations, building new features, taking care of bugs (and there is too much of those!), etc. And I LOVE it! I am seriously frustrated not to be able to spend more time doing it!! I wouldn’t have been able to do that without the priceless support and help of my dear and loving husband, Clinton, the love of my life. Thanks sweetie!

I never expected to have sudden and amazing success. I would have liked that, but I am realistic. But I have to say that Easy Planet Travel is doing well. I have so much to offer, and I still have tons of ideas I want to add to my website… There will be new features in 2015, and I can’t wait to show you! I am sure you’re going like it!

I also took my travel agent course, and passed the exam. Now I only have to get affiliated with an agency so that I can offer you a better service at booking your dream trips!

What I want you to know is that I’m trying my very best. I want you to find what you are looking for on this website, and you keep me so happy by visiting, commenting and liking!!! But I cannot read into your minds, so if you have any request or features or info you would like to see on Easy Planet Travel, PLEASE let me know!

I am suppose to go back to my ‘real’ work on June 15th, 2015. In my dreams, this website would skyrocket and I will be a super travel agent and I could keep doing that and keep taking care of my little Emma-Kate full time. I like my work, but I love my baby and my website! We’ll see how things go…

My final words of 2014 are: THANK YOU for bringing me so much joy!! THANK YOU for coming to Easy Planet Travel often so that I can keep changing my precious Emma-Kate’s diapers!
